Our Lambs - 2020

Kimber (Female) Price: $600.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/12/2020

Sire: Oliver Dam: Keilah

Birth weight: 6.6 pounds Twin

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Kimber (and her twin brother, Kirk) are Keilah’s last set of lambs (we are retiring her from lambing after this year). Keilah’s even temperament is showing up in both of her lambs this year. At 10 years old, Keilah’s seen and done just about everything and very little startles or worries her. The babies have picked this up from her and they are a joy to have around. They look up at you as if to say “What are you going to do with us now?”

Kimber is a momma’s girl. She follows her mom and big sister, Stormie, around learning all the ins and outs of being a great ewe. All that learning must be very tiring because we often find Kimber curled up with her brother, Kirk.

Kirk (Male) Price: $400.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/12/2020

Sire: Oliver Dam: Keilah

Birth weight: 6.6 pounds Twin

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Kirk is a little more outgoing than his sister (as should be expected, I guess). He likes to come up to us and check us out whenever we are closing things down for the night in the barn. The other night, as I was locking up the pen they stay in, he came up and gently pushed his head into my hand. It was like he was saying “You haven’t petted on me enough yet.” :-)

Shelbi (Female) Price: $600.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/17/2020

Sire: Oliver Dam: Stormie

Birth weight: 8.2 pounds Single

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Shelbi is a love bug. She has an inquisitive and charming, and loves to sneak outside of the pen at night while the mothers are all eating some grain so she can explore. She’s recently started doing her best to devour the round bale outside of the pen, all by herself. Shelbi has an adorable little black spot on her left ear, which birth mark, but she wants everyone to know that it is her version of a beauty mark.

Hazel (Female) Price: $600.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/25/2020

Sire: Bravo Dam: Helda

Birth weight: 9.5 pounds Single

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Hazel is what Amy calls “a chunk.” Her mother, Helda, decided to not have twins this year and put all her energy into Hazel… and it shows. She is a big girl and she’s a lot like her mom. As the other sheep rush to come in at night to be fed some grain and be put up in the barn for the night, Hazel and her mother take their time to check out the scenery. She’s very laid back and, judging from her mother’s personality, she is going to be an awesome addition to someone’s flock. She is starting to enjoy getting a few minutes of snuggle time each night and loves to have the base of her ears rubbed.

Rowan (Female) Price: $600.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/26/2020

Sire: Delta Dam: Rosemary

Birth weight: 9.0 pounds Single

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Rowan is another one that’s “a chunk.” Evidently she has been packing away the groceries over the last 3 weeks because she has really grown and filled out nicely. She loves to be close to her mom’s side and Rosemary just dotes on her. Rosemary loves to come up to us for treats and attention. Rowan is curious and is starting to enjoy getting a few minutes of snuggles at night.

Woody (Male) Price: $400.00 (SOLD)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/27/2020

Sire: Delta Dam: Violet

Birth weight: 6.8 pounds Twin

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Woody is a character but doesn’t know what to do with these humans who keep trying to stuff a bottle in his face for the first couple weeks of his life. He really prefers mom’s milk to anything presented in a bottle. Amy likes to stand him on one of our chairs in the barn when she feeds him, but he is very distractable and always wants to see what he may be missing. When he has decided he is done with the bottle, he jumps out of the chair and runs for his mom. As you can see in the pictures below, he’s quite the ladies man and all the ewes love him.

Willow (Female) (Not for sale)

Genotype: Pending Birthday: 03/27/2020

Sire: Delta Dam: Violet

Birth weight: 6.5 pounds Twin

Registration Info: NABSSAR and OEBMSSR eligible

Willow (and her twin, Woody) were Violet’s first set of twins. Evidently, Violet didn’t know how to count to two very well in the beginning and she wasn’t sure what to do with this “other” baby sometimes. Violet finally caught on but not before it started to show in the babies, so Amy and I provided supplemental bottle feeding for the first couple of weeks of their lives. They’re doing much better now, and mom is taking care of the vast majority of their feeding, but we still offer some “extra” once or twice a day. As a side benefit, it gives me some awesome snuggle time with this little girl.
